MADISON, ALABAMA - The Rocket City Trash Pandas provided early fireworks on the field to secure a 3-1 victory over the Tennessee Smokies on Friday. Rocket City scored two runs in the first with singles from designated hitter Eric Wagaman and infielder Sam Brown, striking early against Smokies starter Richard Gallardo (L, 0-2). Sammons Dominates on the Mound as the Mud Hens Win 4-3
The Toledo Mud Hens defeated the Worcester Red Sox in a nailbiter on Friday night at Fifth Third Field 4-3. Bryan Sammons got the start on the bump tonight, coming in with a 2-1 record on the year. Sammons started the day by forcing a quick flyout to center, the next batter then reached second base on an error. Sammons then got out of the inning pitching two quick outs following the error. Hartford, CT- Zac Veen hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning to give the Hartford Yard Goats a 4-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday night at Dunkin' Park. The Yard Goats trailed 3-2 before Veen connected on his second home run of the season. The game was played in front of a sellout, 7,431 fans in downtown Hartford. Starter Jarrod Cande and relievers Brendan Hardy, Blake Goldsberry and Jaden Hill limited Portland to just three runs.
