Cedar Rapids, IA - The Midwest League and MiLB.com announced today that Kernels pitcher Sam Gibbons has been named the MWL Pitcher of the Week for the period ending August 2nd. Gibbons pitched a 9-inning complete game on August 1st in a Kernels 7-0 win at Kane County. He scattered four hits, walked one, hit a batter and struck out nine.
