Harrisburg Senators News Release

Pinch-hitter Caleb Ramsey lined a two-run single to move the Senators in front on their way to a 4-2 victory over the Bowie Baysox on Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie.

Brian Dupra allowed single runs in the first and fourth innings, but otherwise was able to scatter eight Bowie hits in his season-long six innings. The tall righty walked two and struck out one before being relieved by Sam Runion in the seventh inning. Runion fired a perfect seventh and Paul Demny, who was activated from the disabled list today, provided a scoreless eighth inning to give the Senators one last chance.

Kevin Keyes walked to begin the ninth inning, but Ricky Hague popped out on a bunt and Drew Vettleson struck out swinging for the first and second outs. Quincy Latimore singled and pinch hitter Matt Skole walked to load the bases for another pinch-hitter, Ramsey. The left-handed hitting Ramsey worked a 3-2 count before lining an Oliver Drake offering into left field to score the go-ahead runs. Michael Taylor (1-for-4, RBI, 2 SB) followed by stroking a ground-rule double to score another run for the Senators. Demny pitched a perfect ninth inning to secure the win and series victory for Harrisburg. The Senators pitching staff retired the last 14 Bowie batters in a row.

Latimore also had a double and also drove in Keyes with an RBI ground out in the seventh inning. Adrian Sanchez and Jose Lozada each picked up a single as well.

The Senators and Baysox will have a quick turnaround with an 11:05 a.m. start slated for tomorrow morning. John Simms will take the mound for Harrisburg against Bowie's Anthony Vasquez as the Senators go for a sweep of the three-game series. The games can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 10:50 a.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
