Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

Brian Bogusevic's RBI single in the top of the 11th helped lift the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (49-61) to a wild 10-8 over the Toledo Mud Hens (45-64) on Monday night at Fifth Third Field in Toledo.

Later in the inning, a throwing error charged to RHP Rafael Dolis (0.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, K) allowed Chase d'Arnaud (2-5, 2 R) to score and extend the Lehigh Valley lead to 10-8.

Dolis was tagged with the loss and drops to 6-4 on the year.

LHP Cesar Jimenez (1.0 IP) got the win for the Pigs and moves to 3-5 on the season.

In the bottom of the 11th, the Mud Hens loaded the bases with one out against LHP Adam Loewen (1.0 IP, 3 BB, 3 K), but the southpaw was able to fan Steven Moya and Daniel Fields to end the game and pick up his 10th save of the season.

With runners at second and third and two outs in the top of the first, Kelly Dugan came through with a two-run single to give the Pigs a 2-0 lead.

The Mud Hens tied it with a pair of runs in the third as Manny Pina hit a solo shot off of Pigs starter Alec Asher and Marc Krauss came through with an RBI double in the inning.

Erik Kratz's two-run shot in the top of the fourth opened up a 4-2 advantage for the IronPigs. It was Kratz's first home run of the season with Lehigh Valley and his 24th all time with the franchise.

Toledo answered with a two-run shot of their own in the home half of the same frame to tie things at four apiece. The round-tripper came courtesy of Daniel Fields, his fifth of the season.

In his IronPigs debut, Asher (n/d) allowed four runs on nine hits to go along with three strikeouts over six innings of work.

Lehigh Valley regained the lead at 6-4 with two runs in the fifth as Tyler Henson (3-6, 2 2B, RBI, 3 R) drove home a run with an RBI double and Bogusevic (3-6, 2 RBI, SB) came through with an RBI single.

Mud Hens starter Tim Melville (n/d) gave up the six runs on eight hits while walking two and fanning three over 5.1 IP.

Mike Hessman's grand slam in the bottom of the seventh off of Pigs RHP Dustin McGowan (1.0 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 3 ER, BB, K) gave Toledo the lead for the time being at 8-6. It was Hessman's 16th home run of the season and the 433rd of his career, which is the all-time record in Minor League Baseball.

Kratz (2-3, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R) struck again with a two-run shot in the top of the eighth to tie things at eight apiece. It was the first multi-homer game for an IronPig since Russ Canzler went deep twice on July 5, 2014 at Rochester.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Hens had the go-ahead run at third with one out, but RHP Nefi Ogando (2.0 IP, H, 2 K) was able to get Dixon Machado and Corey Jones to ground out and end the threat.

The series continues on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. as RHP Jerad Eickhoff (9-4, 4.25 with Triple-A Round Rock) makes his IronPigs debut against Toledo LHP Mike Belfiore (5-9, 5.34).
