'Dogs Score 5 with Two Outs in the Ninth, Win 9-6 at New Hampshire

Manchester, N.H. - The Portland Sea Dogs (50-85) erased a 6-4 deficit in the eighth inning, scoring five 2-out runs in the ninth, and beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (64-68) 9-6 on Monday night in the series opener at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Portland held a 4-3 lead until the bottom of the eighth inning, as the Fisher Cats scored three runs off winning pitcher Madison Younginer (8-4). K.C. Hobson tied the game with a ground out and Jack Murphy ripped a two-out, two-run single.
Gregory Infante (0-1) could not save it for the Fisher Cats, allowing five unearned runs in the ninth. The top four in Portland's order all had hits to spark the win. Manuel Margot made it a one-run game with an RBI single. Tau-Wei Lin was down to his final strike, but grounded the game-winning, two-run double. Sam Travis followed with an RBI single and Oscar Tejeda singled, but an error on the right-fielder allowed the ninth run to score.
Kyle Martin pitched a perfect ninth for his fifth save of the save.
Luis Diaz had a terrific outing for Portland, tying a season-high with seven innings of work on five hits and three runs.
Portland took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on Oscar Tejeda's 3-run homer off Luis Perez. New Hampshire added two runs in the second inning, but the 'Dogs made it 4-3 in the fourth on a run-scoring double by Aneury Tavarez.
The Sea Dogs and New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) continue their four-game series on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. RHP Mike McCarthy (6-8, 4.54) makes the start for Portland. RHP Austin Bibens-Dirx toes the rubber for New Hampshire.
