Red Wings Recall Jurco from Conditioning Loan

Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Saturday recalled right wing Tomas Jurco from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
The reigning AHL Player of the Week scored five goals - four of them on the power play - and nine points in only five games since his Nov. 17 conditioning loan, helping the Griffins to a perfect 5-0-0-0 record during his stint.
Jurco, 22, had one assist in four NHL games with Detroit this season before joining the Griffins. A member of Grand Rapids' Calder Cup championship team as a rookie in 2012-13, he has gone on to play 103 games with the Red Wings, totaling 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points. Jurco, a native of Kosice, Slovakia, was a second-round draft choice by Detroit (35th overall) in 2011 and has registered 32 goals and 37 assists for 69 points in 111 AHL games with Grand Rapids.
Tonight, the Griffins will take aim at their sixth straight win overall and their fifth consecutive victory at home when the Central Division-leading Lake Erie Monsters pay a 7 p.m. visit to Van Andel Arena.
