Rupert Reassigned to Solar Bears from Marlies; Rodewald Recalled to AHL

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that forward Ryan Rupert has been reassigned to the club from the Marlies by the Maple Leafs, while forward Jack Rodewald has been recalled to the Marlies.

Rupert, 21, has played in eight games with the Marlies this season, recording three goals and one assist, along with two penalty minutes. He returns to the Solar Bears organization after totaling 14 points (5g-9a) and 28 penalty minutes in 17 games last season.

Rupert was selected by the Maple Leafs in the sixth round (157th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Rodewald, 21, has posted 12 points (3g-9a) and seven penalty minutes in 16 games with the Solar Bears this season. The rookie leads all first-year players for Orlando in scoring, and is in his first full professional season with the Solar Bears after suiting up in nine games with the Marlies at the end of the 2014-15 campaign, in which he tallied one assist and two penalty minutes.

The Solar Bears continue their fourth season in the ECHL, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A. at home on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the Amway Center against the South Carolina Stingrays, when the Solar Bears will host Star Wars Night.
