Early Scoring Helps Squirrels to 6-2 Win over Baysox

April 23, 2024 - RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Flying Squirrels scored six runs in the first four innings and cruised to a 6-2 win over the Bowie Baysox to open the homestand on Tuesday at The Diamond. The Flying Squirrels (8-8) picked up their third straight win, holding the Baysox (9-7) scoreless over the final four innings. Lugo Named Eastern League Player of the Week

April 22, 2024 - Portland, Maine - Portland Sea Dogs' outfielder Matthew Lugo has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of April 15th -21st. Lugo appeared in five games for the Sea Dogs hitting .438 (7-for-16) for the week with three doubles, a triple, a home run, three runs scored, and 10 RBI. He led the league in doubles (3), RBI (10), Slugging Percentage (.938), and OPS (1.509). He ranked second in the league in walks (five), third in average (.438), and third in OBP (.571). April 22, 2024 - Bridgewater, New Jersey - Minor League Baseball has named Somerset Patriots RHP Trystan Vrieling as their Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for games played 4/15 - 4/21. Vrieling pitched 7.2 hitless and scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts in the win against the Hartford Yard Goats on 4/19. In his first professional season, the Yankees' 2022 3 rd round selection out of Gonzaga, is 2-0 with a 0.48 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 18.2 innings pitched in three starts. Yankees Currently Scheduling MLB Rehab Assignment for INF DJ LeMahieu with Somerset

April 21, 2024 - Bridgewater, New Jersey - The New York Yankees are currently scheduling to have INF DJ LeMahieu begin an MLB Rehab Assignment with the Double-A Somerset Patriots on Tuesday, April 23 when the team travels to Reading to take on the Fightin Phils. The game is scheduled for 6:45 pm. LeMahieu was placed on the 10-day injured list on 3/25 with a right foot contusion.
